This is a bottle any of us would be lucky to pop. For its 2004 vintage, Dom Pérignon tapped fashion designer Iris van Herpen to interpret the champagne brand’s theme of the year, metamorphosis. The product is an ultra-premium gift box and label with a stone-like green colour scheme that echoes living organisms as well as long-dead fossils. But don’t take the marketing for face value—the wine itself is set to the same standards that Dom Pérignon has upheld since its first vintage was sold in 1921. The 2004 version bears spicy tasting notes on the palate, with a nose containing hints of almonds and cocoa.
