
If you had asked us at the end of the third quarter of last night’s tense Game 5 between the L.A. Clippers and the Houston Rockets, we would have told you it was over. Rockets fans, go home. At that point, the Clippers led by 19 points, 92-79. In the fourth quarter, however, Houston started sinking baskets. A lot of them. The team went on a mind-numbing 40-point rampage to shave the Clippers’ 19-point deficit down to nothing and eventually win the game, 124-103. The sudden turn of events has become one of the most wildly exciting and surprising comebacks of the 2015 NBA Playoffs, and perhaps in all of association history. The Rockets’ victory forced a Game 7 in Houston and elicited some strong reactions from players across the league.
The game in one word:
If you don’t get that last one, it’s a reference to the popular theory that the first team to 100 points always wins in the NBA. So much for that. Here’s what the lone Rockets player tweeting had to say about the affair.
