Markelle Fultz To Only Workout with the Celtics
After garnering plenty of heat, Lonzo Ball only worked out for one team – the Los Angeles Lakers. Now, the consensus number one prospect is following in Ball’s footsteps.
Markelle Fultz, the explosive point guard out of the University of Washington, has stated that it is his goal to hear his name called with the first overall pick. To help out his chances, Fultz announced that he will only hold a workout with the NBA Draft lottery winners, the Boston Celtics.
The Boston Celtics already have a somewhat crowded backcourt, with Isaiah Thomas and Avery Bradley as the primary starters, and Marcus Smart, as well as Terry Rozier seeing a lot of minutes coming off the bench. Nevertheless, Fultz is projected to be a generational talent, with a franchise-altering skillset.
In his one season in college, Fultz averaged 23.2-points, 5.9-assists, 5.7-boards, 1.6-steals, and 1.2-blocks per game, en route to becoming the most highly touted prospect in the country.
Will Fultz be the first overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft? Only time will tell.
