Billups Taking Over? Out on George, Butler?
The Philadelphia 76ers are on the clock and it seems like the only certainty that remains leading into tonight’s NBA Draft is who the Sixers will pick with the first overall pick.
Days ago General Manager David Griffin was abruptly let go by the Cleveland Cavaliers and now there are reports that Chauncey Billups has received a five-year offer to take over the job vacancy left behind. Immediately following Griffin’s departure from the team, LeBron James voiced his appreciation for his former GM, while possibly taking a shot at owner Dan Gilbert, the same man who infamously wrote his hateful letter directed at James way back when LeBron took his talents to South Beach.
If no one appreciated you Griff I did, and hopefully all the people of Cleveland! Thanks for what u did for the team for 3 yrs! We got us 1?

While there is no word on Billups taking the job that has reportedly been offered to him, Ice Cube slipped up and said that Billups will no longer be part of the Big3 events as he is days away from acquiring an executive position with the Cavs.
To add to the drama occurring in Ohio as we speak, the Cavs have attempted to make a run at both Paul George and Jimmy Butler. Jimmy Butler has said that he would rather stay put in Chicago than head over to Cleveland after rumours suggested that unnamed Cavs players have advised him to stay far away from the toxic environment that is growing in the Cleveland organization.
On the PG13 front, word is that the Cavaliers have nothing to offer Indiana aside from Kevin Love and ultimately the market for Love is extremely stale. The fact that almost every single NBA team has checked in on George doesn’t help the Cavs much either.
With the possibilities of LeBron heading out west to Los Angeles in free agency next season, things are getting extremely tense in Cleveland.
At the very least, Lonzo Ball has already given James his pitch!
