With Butler’s and Rondo’s Future Unclear, Wade Staying Put
The NBA rumour mill is running rampant and the Chicago Bulls are pitted right in the middle of it all.
With reports suggesting that both Jimmy Butler and Dwyane Wade met with the Bulls brass to discuss the team’s need to move on from point guard Rajon Rondo in favour of acquiring a floor spacing guard, the chances of Chicago picking up Rondo’s 2017-18 option is decreasing quickly. Rondo, who finally became a factor as part of the Bulls in the playoffs, got injured after the Bulls took a 2-0 series lead over the Boston Celtics, all but ending the Bulls rollercoaster season.
There have also been rumours concerning the future of Butler. With Butler stating that he would rather stay in Chicago than be dealt to the Cleveland Cavaliers, there have been plenty of other teams linked to the superstar two-way player.
But for the Bulls, one thing seems to be a certainty and that is Wade’s future with the club. On Tuesday night, Wade announced he in fact will pick up his $23.8-million play option and stay in his hometown of Chicago through next season.

All eyes now turn on Butler to whom the Bulls still hold rights through 2019.
Some pre-draft drama in the Windy City!
