James Taking Charge of Phoenix

Recently Retired James Jones Gets Front Office Gig in Phoenix

No, LeBron James is still in Cleveland, take a deep breath Cavaliers fans.

We are speaking of the man behind LeBron’s success. The man who was at each of the past seven NBA Finals. That man is recently retired three-point specialist, James Jones. I say recently retired because he literally just did during this offseason, despite popular belief that Jones has been out of the league for years.

Well, now Jones is out of the league, but only as a player as he is set to make a smooth transition into the front office of the Phoenix Suns who earlier this week extended the contract of general manager Ryan McDonough through the 2019-20 season. Jones will now serve as the team’s vice president of basketball operations and will report directly to McDonough.

“I would like to thank Robert and his partners for extending my agreement with this great franchise,” McDonough said in a statement. “We have laid the foundation for what we hope will become the next championship-caliber Suns team. There is still a lot of work to be done to reach our ultimate goal of bringing a championship to Phoenix, so we are thrilled to add James Jones to our staff.”

Can Jones, who at one point played for the organization, be able to bring his NBA Finals magic down south to the desert?
