Fultz Hurt, Ball Gets Triple-Double in Summer League
Injury initiation and redemption were the talking points on Saturday in an exciting day of NBA Summer League action.
Starting with a good, old rivalry, the Los Angeles Lakers took on the Boston Celtics in a game between the number two and three picks in the draft. Celtics rookie Jayson Tatum continued his torrid summer dropping 27-points and 11-rebounds in a Boston win over the Los Angeles Lakers, while Lonzo Ball rebounded quickly putting up an 11-11-11 triple-double.
But the main story on the evening for the Lakers was the late first round pick Kyle Kuzma out of Utah State who went off for 31-points and nine-boards albeit in the loss.
Elsewhere during Summer League, the Philadelphia Sixers’ streak of bad luck continued as rookie Markelle Fultz suffered an ankle injury in a win against the Golden State Warriors. Fultz’s injury has been reported to not be too serious.
Either way, Summer League has been filled with excitement, and the rookie class has most definitely been lighting it up in July!
