Schroder Arrested in Georgia

Hawks’ Dennis Schroder Arrested on Battery Misdemeanour Charges

It’s been a summer of change for the Atlanta Hawks, who lost Paul Millsap in free agency and then traded away big man Dwight Howard.

Now, their remaining star player Dennis Schroder has gotten himself into a little bit of trouble with the law.

According to a TMZ Sports report, Schroder got into an altercation with another man outside of a hookah bar in Georgia early Friday morning, instigating a group brawl. The 24-year old point guard was subsequently arrested and charged for battery and misdemeanour along with three of his friends.

“[The victim] was struck by hands and feet by the offenders,” a cop said after going through the surveillance video.

Schroder was released on bail earlier today and will undoubtedly face some sort of punishment from the league.

“We are aware of an incident involving Dennis Schröder earlier this morning,” said senior Atlanta Hawks Senior Vice President of Public Relations Garin Narain. “We are still gathering information as it pertains to the situation, and out of respect for the legal process, we will have no further comment at this time.”

Schroder is coming off his best NBA season in which he averaged 17.9-points and 6.3-assists per game.
