Kevin Durant Admits to and Apologizes for Twitter Controversy
Remember Kevin Durant’s old NIKE commercials?
The ‘Nice Guy’ ones?
Well, it seems like Kevin Durant isn’t that nice of a guy after all and has been living a double life on social media and for the straight-up individual that he appears to be, even the Golden State Warriors has a few flaws. This all came to life a couple of days ago when Durant directed shots at his former employer, the Oklahoma City Thunder on what he has since admitted to being a fake Twitter account.
No one has your back like you do yourself and Durant proved that fact at the conclusion of his weekend.
“I happened to take it a little too far,” Durant said. “That’s what happens when I get into those basketball debates. That was childish, that was idiotic, all those type of words.”
Now, I realize most of you are here for the juicy stuff, those being, the very quickly deleted tweets from Durant’s fake account.
Tweet numero uno read: “He didn’t like the organization or playing for Billy Donovan. His roster wasn’t that good, it was just him and russ.”
This was followed by his second tweet: “Imagine taking russ off that team, see how bad they were. Kd can’t win a championship with those cats.”
In what is a definite weak move, it should be noted that Durant did come clean and admit to his mistake. He also said he plans to personally apologize to Thunder coach Billy Donovan and move on from this experience. From now on, he will try to “scale back a little bit” on social media “and just focus on basketball.”
Duly noted, KD.
