Smith, Adebayo, Fultz Among Those Identified in ASM Sports Case
When looking deep into massive sports businesses, often times, you will dig up a lot of dirt.
That is exactly the case with ASM sports, a sports agency run by Andy Miller that has been booked for a list of illegal, under-the -table deals that have been secretly negotiated with college athletes. Reports include cash advances, and entertainment and travel expenses for both high school and college prospects, as well as their families.
Now, new information on the case has arose and has shown that NBA rookies Dennis Smith Jr., Bam Adebayo, and Markelle Fultz have all been identified as recipients of payments that exceeded $10,000 from Miller’s sports agency. Kyle Kuzma and Malcolm Brogdon are other names listed. On top of that, projected 2018 first rounders Miles Bridges of Michigan State, Collin Sexton of Alabama, and Wendell Carter Jr. of Duke have all been identified by the federal investigation report as well.
According to the report documents, Smith received $43,500, while other documents suggest that the Dallas Mavericks received a total of $73,500 in loans. Adebayo was noted to receive $12,000, a number that later increased to $36,500.
Major collegiate programs such as Duke, North Carolina, Texas, Kentucky, Michigan State, USC, and Alabama have all been connected to the documents unearthed during the investigation.
