Houston Rocket’s P.J. Tucker is Assumes Title of NBA Sneaker King
On the NBA floor, P.J. Tucker is one of the league’s most tenacious defenders.
He has made a living out of it. A knockdown corner three shooter, a tough and rugged personality on the floor, and a fearless attitude has allowed Tucker to carve out a niche in the Association. Off the court, he is the NBA sneaker king.
Although his career has taken many turns – it has taken him to multiple NBA Franchises, even to Europe for a number of years – he has remained a sneaker-head through and through. Today, the Houston Rockets forward has accumulated hundreds of pairs of sneakers. From the OG kicks, to the newest fire on the market, Tucker has it all – and he wants more.
“I get my shoes from everywhere,” Said Tucker in an in-depth interview with Sole Collector. “It’s gotten to the point where people hit me up that used to own a sneaker shop somewhere in the middle of nowhere, and they closed the shop, but still got a bunch of old [size] 14s left. They hit me up. I get stuff from all over the place.”
The hobby has turned into an addiction, as Tucker has everything from the Jordan’s to the Yeezy’s, even shoes of former and current teammates.
“It started a couple years ago,” Commented Tucker on when fellow players began noticing his unique shoe game. “And now people are watching all the time 24-7 on Twitter and Instagram and all that stuff. It’s always funny to see people watching what I’m wearing. It’s cool.”
As far as what Tucker has in store for the remainder of the season, it is definitely worth keeping an eye on the NBA’s sneaker king.
“I’ve got one pair that I think everybody will think is pretty dope when I decide to wear them. I’m bringing out more old-old stuff. Just be on the lookout for that because I’m going to be switching it up.”
