Zach Randolph’s Brother Shot Dead Outside Indiana Bar on Saturday
It was a sad day around the NBA on Saturday as word came out that the brother of Sacramento Kings power forward Zach Randolph was shot and killed outside of an Indiana Bar.
Police reported the sounds of gunfire at approximately 5 a.m. and found Roger Randolph bleeding between two cars about 97 kilometers northeast of Indianapolis. While an investigation is ongoing, the attack is not believed to be random. Roger was only 35 years old at the time of his death.
With several run-ins with the law under his belt, Roger was involved in a 2004 nightclub shooting, which wounded three people and landed him in prison. Randolph would remain in prison for three years. The shooting which transpired on Saturday morning is believed to stem from an argument which occurred on the dance floor of Hop’s Blues Room in Marion. Zach Randolph was apparently at the club as well. He was questioned following the shooting, but was not charged.
A 17-year veteran, Zach Randolph is coming off yet another productive season in which he averaged 14.5-points and 6.7-rebounds per game. His brother was a talented basketball player as well, but due to legal troubles, he was kicked off his high school team and was not able to ever re-establish his career.
