Phoenix Suns Agree to a Pair of Trades with the Nets, Sixers
The Phoenix Suns rebuild is in full force as they continue to wheel and deal.
Ahead of the weekend, the Suns made a couple of minor trades as they continue to prepare for what will be a very interesting season in the team’s development plan. With a young and talented core in place, the Suns are now hammering out the minor details ahead of the 2018-19 campaign.
The first move saw the Suns acquire Darrell Arthur from the Brooklyn Nets for Jared Dudley and a 2021 second-round pick. Arthur and his $7.4-million contract will more than likely be bought out by the Suns. Dudley, who is set to make $9.5-million this upcoming season is also a buyout candidate. The second round pick is protected to No. 35.
The second move for the Suns involved the Philadelphia 76ers.
The Suns acquired big man Richaun Holmes for cash consideration. The move allowed the Sixers to clear salary to sign their 2017 second-round pick Jonah Bolden to a four-year, $7-million contract. Holmes is in the final year of his four-year deal and is only set to earn $1.6-million.
