Former Toronto Raptor Signs with the Houston Rockets
Once referred to as the “Brazilian Kevin Durant,” Bruno Caboclo has yet to find his footing in the NBA. Now, he is heading to Houston, in an attempt to rejuvenate his once-promising career.
ESPN reported on Friday that Caboclo has signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the Rockets.
This type of deal provides Caboclo with a minimum NBA salary for 1 season. It can also be converted into a 2-way deal, allowing him to be shuttled back and forth between Houston and the G-League. The former Raptor helped Raptors 905 to the 2017 G-League title.
The 20th overall pick in the 2014 draft, Caboclo’s immense length provided him with intrigue. However, he has played a total of 213 minutes in 35 games over the past 4 seasons, while subsequent picks such as Rodney Hood and Clint Capela have proven to be quality NBA players.
After 3 1/2 years in Toronto, the Raptors traded Caboclo to Sacramento at last season’s trade deadline, for Malachi Richardson.
