New York Knicks Win NBA Championship… in 2K League
The championship drought is finally over for the New York Knicks!
Well, kind of.
In the inaugural NBA 2K League season, the Knicks gaming squad knocked off Heat Check 2-0 over the weekend to become the League’s first champions, despite entering the event as underdogs. This is the first championship trophy to come to Knicks way since the NBA championship was hoisted by the Knicks back in 1973.

Clawing back against all odds to earn a playoff spot, the Knicks knocked off the top-seeded Blazers before capping off their Cinderella run by sweeping Miami Heat’s team with a game one win of 69-66 and 74-71 in the title game.
The NBA 2K League is expecting to bring in four more teams for next season and expects to have all 30 NBA clubs on board by its third season. The first season featured 17-teams.
“We expect this to be a global league,” NBA 2K League managing director Brendan Donohue told the Associated Press on Saturday.
“That is on our game plan, though when that happens it’s not definitive. But that is our goal.”
Let the gaming continue!
