Raptors’ Fred VanVleet Plays Pick-up Ball in the Streets of Toronto
Careful if you are balling on the streets of Toronto, because Raptors’ backup point guard Fred VanVleet may just show up and make you look silly on the court.
Fresh off inking a two-year extension with the team, the Wichita State alum is enjoying a pretty exciting and laid back offseason, which included surprising a bunch of Toronto-nians with an appearance on an outdoor basketball court. The set-up may not be to the standard that VanVleet is used to, but the miniature guard was still able to cross-up a fan, while draining some shots on a crooked rim.
According to a Reddit user known as BallTech, the game took place near Bayview and York Mills in Toronto.
The runner-up for the League’s Sixth Man of the Year award is set to enter his third NBA season. He is coming off a season in which he has averaged 8.6-points per game on 41.4-percent shooting from long range, while becoming a very important piece off the Raptors core. The 24-year old’s impressive player earned him a two-year, $18-million extension with the team.
Remain on the lookout, Toronto.
