Vocal Jimmy Butler Returns to Wolves Practice Ahead of Regular Season
Jimmy Butler definitely has a chip on his shoulder and he is out looking for blood.
Returning to practice with the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday, Butler left behind no victims, verbally confronting his teammates, coaches, as well as the front office. It was the Butler show as the superstar forward did not mince words when directing his emotions towards head coach Tom Thibodeau, general manager Scott Layden, and the team’s young and talented duo of Karl-Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins.
The multiple-time All-Star also decided to run a scrimmage alongside the team’s third stringers against the Wolves’ top players.
“You (bleeping) need me. You can’t win without me,” Butler reportedly screamed at Layden throughout practice.
The fiery Butler requested a trade from the team before the start of training camp, after butting heads with the Wolves’ young core and coach Thibodeau. The Wolves have clearly been unable to find a trade partner to this point and butler is expected to start the season with the team.
Butler is entering the final year of his contract and it is highly probable that this will be his final year with the team.
