Los Angeles Lakers Sign Big Man Tyson Chandler
Amid what has been a rough start to the Los Angeles Lakers season, the team announced a new signing.
After being bought out by the Phoenix Suns, the Lakers agreed to terms with NBA champion Tyson Chandler.
“We love the fact that we’re going to get another veteran,” Lakers star LeBron James said. “A guy who plays hard, a guy who’s very smart and another champion to add to the champions that we have in this system here today, and it adds depth in our frontcourt, which we have had trouble with at times.”
Chandler was owed $13.6-million on the final year of his four-year deal. The Lakers will sign the centre for the prorated minimum worth $2.1-million.
He is expected to backup JaVale McGee at the five.
