Jim Boylen Era Off to Rough Start in Chicago
After a franchise record 56-point defeat, things have gotten very tense in Chicago.
“I think your play is embarrassing,’’ Jim Boylen said after the 133-77 game. “Me subbing them is saving them. Maybe we saved them. The pro-player thing, this is basketball. This is about honoring the game and doing the right things. I worked for Gregg Popovich, he subbed five guys a ton of times. No one says a word to him about it.
After benching his starters on two separate occasions in the loss to the Boston Celtics, Bulls players held a two-hour players only meeting to discuss Boylen’s “shock-and-awe” approach to coaching.
Zach LaVine and Justin Holiday headed the meeting.
The Bulls’ erosion continues to grow.
