LA Eying Big Fish

Davis to the Lakers?

Los Angeles Lakers Looking to Make Big Splash, Eying Anthony Davis

It isn’t a secret that Magic Johnson is aiming to reel in the big fish.

Numerous reports have surfaced tying Anthony Davis with the Los Angeles Lakers. Acquiring Davis, who is still under contract with the New Orleans Pelicans, would require a pretty massive haul in any sort of trade. The Lakers are reportedly willing to make their young pieces and draft picks available if the Pelicans become open to trading their prized superstar.

That would be amazing,” James told ESPN on Thursday on the potential of the Lakers adding Davis. “That would be amazing, like, duh. That would be incredible.”

With all the rumblings in the background, Davis remained focused on his team following a 123-115 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks.

“I don’t really care,” Davis said about James’ statements. “Obviously it’s cool to hear any high-caliber player say they want to play with me. But my job is to turn this team around. If we’re 15-17, that means I’m not doing my job.”

Furthermore, Davis reiterated his love for both the team as well as the city of New Orleans

“I love my teammates. I love New Orleans. I love the fans. I talk their slang. I love their food.”

Davis is eligible to receive the five-year, $239 million supermax this upcoming offseason, but if the Pelicans cannot right the ship and can come up with the funds to lock up Davis, they may focus on moving the superstar over the summer.
