Denver Nuggets Waive Nick Young after Signing him 20 Days Prior
The Swaggy P era has come to an end in Denver.
After signing on with the Nuggets just 20 days ago, the team announced on Sunday that they have provided Nick Young with an early new year’s gift and waived him.
“We want to thank Nick for coming to Denver on such short notice to give us some relief with our injury issues,” general manager Tim Connelly said in a statement earlier today. “He immediately fit in with our group and did everything that was asked of him by being the great teammate and consummate pro he is.”
Young saw action in just four games for the Nuggets and shot 33% from the field, scoring only nine points across his four appearances.
The Nuggets saw Paul Millsap return to the lineup on Saturday sparking the move to release Young. With a declining shot and character issues, which include an August arrest, it will be tough for the 33-year old guard to sign on with a team this season.
Young won an NBA championship as a member of the Golden State warriors last season.
