4 Potential Trade Packages for New Orleans Pelicans Star Anthony Davis
Now that we know Anthony Davis wants out, where might he end up? According to his agent Rich Paul, Davis has made it clear that he wants to join a contender. Whether that is an immediate contender or an up-and-coming franchise is unclear.
One note to highlight is that the Celtics would be a prime candidate to acquire Davis, based on rumours and on what they have to offer, however under the “Rose Rule”, they would not be able to acquire him until the offseason due to Kyrie Irving’s contract. Based off of that, the Celtics will be left out and more immediate trade scenarios will be explored.

Portland Trail Blazers
Pelicans get: CJ McCollum, Zach Collins, 1stRound Pick
Blazers get: Anthony Davis
If a deal with the Lakers falls through, look out for the Trail Blazers to have a real shot at acquiring Davis. The Pelicans would be receiving a bright young player who has three years left on his contract. Along with a 1strounder, Zach Collins is a nice young big that could fit into the Pelicans future plans as well.
As for the Blazers, pairing Anthony Davis with Damian Lillard would make them instant title contenders. Recently, there have been rumours about the team needing to shake things up and bolster their frontcourt and this is the perfect opportunity.
Pelicans get: Eric Bledsoe, Malcolm Brogdon, Thon Maker, DJ Wilson, Donte DiVincenzo, 1stRounder
Bucks get: Anthony Davis
Look for the Bucks to be the dark horses in the Anthony Davis sweepstakes. Sure, they have the best record in the NBA, but acquiring Davis and pairing him with Giannis Antetekounmpo would make them perennial contenders for the next decade.
From the Pelicans perspective, trading Davis to the East may be appealing. Also, in this scenario they get an expiring contract in Eric Bledsoe and 4 intriguing young players.
Pelicans get: Harrison Barnes, Dennis Smith Jr., 2021 1stRound Pick
Mavericks get: Anthony Davis
First of all, you’ve got to believe Anthony Davis would love to play with Luka Doncic. Second, Mark Cuban is one of the more charismatic owners in the NBA and has the sort of gravitas necessary to convince Davis of what the Mavericks are trying to build.
As for the return, The Pelicans receive an established scorer entering the prime of his career in Harrison Barnes and a bright young player with All-Star potential in Dennis Smith Jr.
