All-Star Weekend Update

Almost all Filled Up

Currys to Headline Three-Point Shootout, Doncic in Skills Challenge

With the All-Star starters announced, the rest of the weekend is now taking shape as well.

The Saturday night festivities are starting to get filled up as players are getting selected for each of the marquee events. With the weekend only a few weeks away, the Three-Point Shootout, the Dunk Contest, as well as the Skills Competition already has a few names that are locked in.

The shootout, will feature two brothers in Steph and Seth Curry. They will be joined by Buddy Hield, Damian Lillard, and future Hall of Famer Dirk Nowitzki. Loaded with big names, the field still requires three more names. It is still uncertain if defending champion Devin Booker will participate in this year’s event.

As for the Slam Dunk contest, Dennis Smith Jr. has confirmed that he will return to the competition and he will be joined by Charlotte Hornets rookie Miles Bridges. There are also reports that Philadelphia 76ers star Ben Simmons is looking to become the third participant in this year’s contest.

In case you have not seen Bridges dunk yet, well, here’s a little bit of a preview…

Lastly, this year’s Skills Competition will feature a ton of youth as some of the game’s most electric guards are set to duke it out amongst each other.

Rookies Luka Doncic and Trae Young have both entered the competition and will be joined by De’Aaron Fox. It will be interesting to see if the NBA continues to keep its guards vs. big man format for the Skills Competition.

Still a few names to be announced, but already, this seems like a Saturday night that cannot be missed!
