Anthony Davis Disinterested in Boston, Growing Concerns Around Kyrie
With the news of Anthony Davis looking to move on from the New Orleans Pelicans, the Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics emerged as the most likely landing spots.
While the Lakers seem to be the preferred destination for the Pelicans superstar, especially since Davis shares the same agent as LeBron James in Rich Paul, the Celtics don’t seem to be an ideal fit in Davis’ eyes. Of course, due to the “Derrick Rose Rule”, the Celtics cannot trade for Davis unless Irving is involved in the deal.
That being said, there is also a “growing belief of uncertainty” surrounding Irving’s future with the team. A pending free agent, Irving has not seemed necessarily happy at times this season as the Celtics have failed to maintain a consistent high level of play. Irving did say that he would re-sign with the Celtics before the start of the season, but it now appears as though Irving is shying away from those claims.
With the February 7 deadline quickly approaching, it will be interesting to see how the Anthony Davis fiasco plays out.
