Pelicans Uninterested in Trading Davis to Lakers, Patient in Trade Talks

The NBA Trade Deadline may be about a week away, but it seems like everything is still on cruise control for the New Orleans Pelicans.

With the Anthony Davis situation unfolding in the messy fashion that it did, the Pelicans don’t appear to be in any rush to trade its franchise’s superstar. Furthermore, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Pelicans have no interest in speaking with the team that has been rumoured to atop the list of suitors for the Pelicans big man.

Eligible for the super-max this offseason, the Pelicans still control Davis for the next two years. Earlier in the week, Davis’ agent Rich Paul of Klutch Sports came out and said that his client is looking to be traded – a statement that cost Davis $50K in fines.

Head coach Alvin Gentry said he isn’t sure whether Davis will continue to play with Pelicans moving forward.
