Ben Simmons Hopes to Learn from Magic Johnson During Offseason
If the NBA signs off on things, Ben Simmons will be working with one of the great point guards in NBA history over the offseason in Los Angeles Lakers executive, Magic Johnson.
While it may make more sense for the 6-foot-10 Simmons to find some shooting help over the offseason, the Philadelphia 76ers is hoping to work with the 6-foot-9 Johnson this upcoming summer. Both Simmons and Johnson have similar styles of play as Simmons came into the league drawing tons of comparisons to the Lakers legend.
Magic Johnson takes one last question and says Ben Simmons contacted the Lakers about getting together to learn from a fellow big guard. Magic said he’s game – as long as the league signs off.

“He reached out to me, not to me directly, to the Lakers, to find out if we can get together this summer,” Johnson said. “I said, ‘Hey, you’d have to clear it with the league. Everybody. The Sixers sign off. We sign off. The league sign off that nothing is going on.’
“But he wants to know how to play the position as a big guard, da, da, da, da, da da. It’s fine. I will do that.”
With all the tampering allegations being thrown around, if the NBA does sign off on Simmons training with Johnson, this could become one of the weirder stories heading into the offseason.
