Three ACC Teams Receive #1 Seed as the March Madness Bracket is Set
We are just about to get underway!
With conference tournaments all wrapped up and a few play-in games remaining, the March Madness 2019 bracket is all but set. After Selection Sunday, three ACC teams received #1 seeds – Duke, Virginia, and North Carolina. They were joined by Gonzaga as the lone non-ACC top ranked team.
Gonzaga most recently lost to St. Mary’s in a shocking WCC Title game, but that doesn’t take away from the fact that they have been one of the more dominant college teams throughout the season.
Duke was ranked the #1 team in the entire tournament by the selection committee.
“They earned their right to be there,” said Stanford AD Bernard Muir, who chaired the selection committee, of the ACC teams.
The tournament play-ins are tomorrow and the tournament officially begins on Thursday!
Get those brackets done and get ready to for the madness!
