Canada placed in Group H with Senegal, Lithuania, and Australia
Canada has officially booked its first trip back to the FIBA World Cup since 2010 after a first-place finish at the FIBA America’s Tournament.
On March 16, FIBA revealed its World Cup draw for the upcoming games slated to be played in China.
Canada, ranked 23rd in the world, has been placed in Group H, along with European powerhouse Lithuania, Australia, and Senegal. Lithuania is currently ranked sixth in the world.
Canada has yet to win a game at the World Cup, but look to be entering the tournament with their best roster to date. Seven automatic bids for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics will be up for grabs in the World Cup.
Canada last took part in the Olympics back in 2000 in Sydney.
