Former Boston Celtics Guard Jabari Bird Pleads Guilty for Assault
In the fall, news broke that former Boston Celtics guard Jabari Bird was involved in a horrifying domestic dispute with his ex-girlfriend.
Currently awaiting sentencing, Bird plead guilty for assaulting his ex-girlfriend, which included strangulation or suffocation, kidnapping, and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. The victim was able to escape the house and contact authorities after Bird suffered a seizure on the scene.
The woman said “the physical and psychological pain you have caused me will haunt me forever.”

The 24-year old was traded by the Celtics to the Atlanta Hawks prior to the Trade Deadline and was subsequently waived.
Drafted 56th overall in the 2017 NBA Draft, Bird made a name for himself as a gritty and tenacious defender. With exceptional play in the G League, it was only a matter of time before the University of California alum was to find a niche in the league.
