As Injuries Mount, Lakers are Ready to Give up on Lost Season
It’s official, the Lakers have signified their intent to surrender and give up on the season. Though still mathematically in the playoff race, they have decided to pull the plug and keep their main guys out. In fact, now tied for the 8th worst record in the NBA, many believe it is in the Lakers’ best interest to tank to the rest of the year.
"They actually have an incentive to tank now."

When you consider that they could use further assets if they wish to acquire Anthony Davis this summer, this may make plenty of sense. Either way, what a roller coaster ride; from being 4thin the West and having legitimate playoff aspirations to not only missing out on the playoffs, but now attempting to fall further down the standings.
It started with the announcement that LeBron would be on a minute restriction for the rest of the season. Per Chris Haynes, the Lakers plan is to rest LeBron on back-to-backs and cap his minutes at 32.

Kyle Kuzma has been held out of games recently, and who knows when or if he will suit up again.
Things are so bad that you have LeBron James suiting up and sharing the court with rookies Moritz Wagner and Jonathan Williams.
Kuz, Ingram and Lonzo are all out tonight.
