NBA 2K League’s Continue to Rise in Popularity

The world of E-Sports and professional gaming continues to rise in popularity

around the world. This now applies to the most popular NBA video game, the NBA 2K franchise. If you are tired of competing against the same people online and being at the top of the same leaderboards, there is now an NBA 2K League. This is where the best go to compete.

The NBA 2K League is the official league of the NBA and Two-Take Interactive, the creators of NBA 2K19. If drafted into this league, you can join a roster of other talented NBA 2K players, and go on to compete against the highest level of competition. Regardless of where you are in the world, you can be selected, and those that are selected will be put onto a team sponsored by an actual current NBA team.

Of the 30 NBA franchises, 21 of them are involved in this project. This season, the champions are the 76ers GC gaming team.

This season has obviously ended but for those interested, the league will be back again next year, with tryouts starting in November. With over 1.8 million followers combined on all social media platforms, the NBA 2K League continues to grow. Compared to other e-sports leagues, like the NFL Madden franchise, NBA 2K is relatively new, still figuring things out.

“With such a young product, in a new space that folks are still just trying to wrap their heads around, the attitude is to just keep doing the right things and the revenue will follow,” said Brendan Donohue, managing director of the NBA 2K League.”I just think we have so much green space in front of us.”

You can find more information at the NBA 2K official website.
