What are the Best Bets for the Second Round of the Playoffs?
Round 2 features 4 very competitive playoff series. From a betting perspective, this is great news as this presents value from multiple angles. At this stage the teams are all-in and the beautiful part about series betting is that it eliminates a lot of the volatility associated with game-to-game betting.
Here are a few of my best NBA Playoff Second Round Bets. (Note: odds are from bet365 and BetWay).
Denver Nuggets to win vs. Blazers (-120 / 1.80)
I am so impressed with the Denver Nuggets. With the exception of the let-down spot in Game 6, this team improved from game to game. I don’t care who you are; going up against a veteran San Antonio Spurs squad led by Gregg Popovich is a serious challenge. I am slightly concerned with regards to how much the Spurs series took out of team but I actually believe they match up better with the Blazers than the Spurs. During the regular season, the Nuggets dominated the Blazers. Nikola Jokic has put up monster numbers against a week Portland interior and the Nuggets have the wing defenders in Gary Harris and Torrey Craig to guard Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum.

Houston Rockets +1.5 Series Handicap vs. Warriors (-110 / 1.90)
I firmly believe the Rockets have an excellent chance of winning this series. With this bet, all that is required is the Rockets to either win or send it to a 7 game series and we win. At even money, I think it’s a great bet. Forget about James Harden and the offensive prowess, the Rockets are defending at a high level. Add to this the fact that the Warriors haven’t really looked like themselves and that Curry and Thompson are questionable for games 1 and 2 and I think the Rockets are in an ideal position.
Toronto Raptors -1.5 Series Handicap vs. 76ers (-110 / 1.90)
I’ll keep this one short: I don’t believe in this 76ers team at all. They look disjointed, immature and very reliant on Joel Embiid. The Raptors matchup perfectly with them and should win this series in 6 games or less. The fact that I’m getting even money to make this bet? Sign me up.
