Former Raptors Center Jonas Valanciunas Ruled Out for the Season
Why must bad things happen to good people?
Toronto Raptor fan favourite and current Memphis Grizzlies has been shut down for the remainder of the season due to a Grade 2 ankle sprain. Delon Wright now remains as the only piece in the Marc Gasol blockbuster who remains active for the Grizzlies. C.J. Miles was lost for the season after sustaining a foot injury a few weeks back.
Nevertheless, Valanciunas has been a revelation for the struggling Grizzlies.
In 19 games since being acquired from Toronto, Valanciunas has averaged 19.9 points and 10.7 rebounds as a starter for the Grizz. Prior to leaving a game against the Los Angeles Clippers early, he poured in 34 points and 20 rebounds against the Phoenix Suns on Saturday.
The team announced that surgery will not be necessary and Toronto’s national treasure is expected to make a full recovery by the start of training camp.
