Lakers Superstar LeBron James to Produce Boxing Series
Wondering what LeBron James is up to these days? With more time on his hands after missing out on the playoffs for the first time since 2010, James will be an executive producer on a new boxing documentary series called “40 days.”
A partnership between Uninterrupted, the platform founded by James and partner Maverick Carter, and DAZN, a subscription video streaming service, the series will coalesce around the middleweight bout between Canelo Alvarez and Daniel Jacobs.
The first episode is scheduled to debut April 23, with the actual fight taking place on May 4 in Las Vegas.
“These documentaries will shine light on the 3-dimensional aspect of who these athletes are outside of the ring and empower them to tell their own stories as they prepare for some of the biggest moments in their boxing careers,” Maverick Carter said.
Oscar De La Hoya, who will also feature in the series offered his thoughts saying, “This is excellent for the sport as it will provide the kind of unique lens that only LeBron James and Maverick Carter can bring. At the same time, there’s no better way for them to start this partnership than by featuring the most important boxing event of the year, so I am proud to be part of it.”
Besides this boxing series, LeBron is making big moves in Hollywood, also producing a new “House Party” movie, a “Space Jam” flick and a movie about his life and more.
