OG Anunoby Undergoes Emergency Appendectomy, Out Indefinitely
Talk about bad timing. A day before the first playoff game is a time when teams are extremely cautious and solely focused on getting everyone healthy and prepared. Unfortunately for the Raptors, OG Anunoby is expected to miss a minimum of two weeks, following an emergency appendectomy.

OG will definitely miss the first round series against the Orlando Magic and will likely miss at least a portion of the second round series (assuming the Raptors advance, of course). Appendectomy’s are serious and in some cases, the recovery time can be up to a month.
For the Raptors, this now has implications on their playoff rotations After Fred Van Vleet and Serge Ibaka, OG has been the most used bench player. This will now likely mean an increase in minutes for Norman Powell and possibly even, Jodie Meeks or Jeremy Lin. While neither of those guys have the length or defensive presence that OG does, they are capable players, and would likely only be used in spot-up duty.
For OG and the Raptors, this is obviously very unfortunate and comes at the worst possible time. On behalf of all Raptors fans, we wish OG a speedy recovery and to get him back on the floor healthy and ready to contribute.
