There is no official word on the length of the deal, but it is probably safe to assume that it’s only for the remainder of the season. He will be eligible to play tonight, in the Raptors’ final regular season game against the Timberwolves.
Moreland was initially signed on a 10-day contract back on March 14th. Through 3 games, he averaged 2.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.3 assists in 10.3 minutes per game. He is essentially a replacement for Greg Monroe; a third string center and insurance policy, that will likely only feature in garbage time. With that said, he is a good rebounder and capable defender to man the middle if necessary.
Throughout is NBA career; the 27-year-old Moreland has career averages of 2.0 points to go with 3.7 rebounds. The Raptors are his 4thNBA team, after previous stints with the Kings, Pistons, and Suns.
