Detroit Pistons Plan to Relocate G-League Affiliate to Wayne State
Maybe they got a little bit of advice from former Toronto Raptors head coach Dwane Casey, but the Detroit Pistons have announced plans to relocate their G League affiliate.
The Grand Rapids Drive would make a two hours road trip over to Detroit where they will then play at the new $25 million dollar basketball arena at Wayne State University. The Division-II arena is only a two minute drive from Little Caesars Arena, the home of the Detroit Pistons. The move would allow the Pistons to easily call-up players when necessary even if said players play earlier in the day.
The new arena holds up to 3,000 fans.
At this point, there is no timetable of the move as the Pistons and Grand Rapids Drive are currently tied up until the 2021 G League season.
