Lue Expected to be Next Lakers Coach

Lakers Expected to Finalize Tyronn Lue Head Coaching Hire Shortly

With Monty Williams off the market, the Los Angeles Lakers look poised to hire Tyronn Lue as their new head coach in the coming days.

Lue was reported to be the favourite to land the job at the start of the Lakers head coaching search, but at this point it seems like a forgone conclusion. While the Lakers have yet to extend a formal offer his way according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Lakers have been said to be very impressed by Lue who already has a close relationship with LeBron James who he coached back in Cleveland.

Lue is also no stranger to the bright lights of Los Angeles, the former point guard played his first three seasons in the purple and gold, winning a championship with the team in 2001.

Jason Kidd, Juwan Howard, and Mark Jackson are names considered to be still in the running.
