It may be the offseason, yet D’Angelo Russell continues to light up this joint.
There haven’t been many things that have gone sideways for Russell since he was traded from the Los Angeles Lakers, but after a season that included his first All-Star nod and a short-lived playoff run, the 23-year old point guard hit a slight snag at LaGuardia Airport.

The pending restricted free agent was cited for marijuana possession in his checked baggage. Security found marijuana in a hidden compartment of an Arizona Iced Tea can. He will now be forced to enter the NBA’s marijuana program which dictates that if a player “has been convicted of (including a plea of guilty, no contest or nolo contendere to) the use or possession of marijuana in violation of the law,” they will be subject to a fine according to the current collective bargaining agreement. A player can face suspension upon their third violation.
The Ohio State alum is coming off a season in which he averaged 21.1 points and seven assists per game.
