Warriors Expect DeMarcus Cousins to Return During Conference Finals

While to this point, the timetable for Kevin Durant’s return from a calf strain is unclear, DeMarcus Cousins is reportedly nearing a return for a torn quad.

Cousins originally suffered the injury during the first round of the playoffs against the Los Angeles Clippers. Surgery was ruled out, but initially reports suggested that Cousins would miss the remainder of the NBA Playoffs. His status has not yet been confirmed for Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals, but he is expected to return at some point during the Warriors’ third round series.

The Warriors await their third round opponent after beating the Warriors in six games. The Portland Blazers and Denver Nuggets are set to duke it out in Game 7 on Sunday.

Cousins is on a one-year contract and will be a free agent this summer alongside Klay Thompson and more than likely, Kevin Durant.
