Not a Done Deal Yet

Clippers Emerge as Legit Destination for Durant Amid Knicks Rumours

Kevin Durant is expected to return for the Golden State Warriors for the start of the NBA Finals, but his future past this season remains very unclear.

Over the past month, a whirlwind of rumours suggested that Durant to the New York Knicks is a “done deal” as teammates close to the Warriors superstar suggested that he’s all but done with his current team following these playoffs. Despite the strong link between Durant and the Knicks, reportedly, some “very smart and plugged-in people” that have been in contact with Marc Stein stated that “the Los Angeles Clippers have emerged as an equally dangerous threat.”

Stein has previously said that he “heard trusted insiders state with conviction that Durant is already planning to join the Knicks … and then that he is likely to consider the Nets as well … and now that he is eyeing the Clippers just as intently as New York.”

Durant took several team meetings before subsequently signing with the Warriors back in 2016.

The 30-year old Durant has missed the entire Western Conference Finals after suffering a strained calf muscle.
