Playoff Adversity

Blazers Star Damian Lillard Playing Through Separated Ribs

Already without the services of Jusuf Nurkic and with Enes Kanter playing through a separated shoulder, it seems like another Portland Trailblazer is willing himself through these playoffs.

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Damian Lillard played Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals against the Golden States Warriors with separated ribs. The injury more than likely occurred when the Blazers superstar went after a loose-ball, colliding with Warriors big man Kevon Looney in Game 2. Lillard went onto shoot 5-for-18 from the field in Game 3, scoring 19-points.

The Blazers went onto lose the game on their home court by a score of 110-99, falling down 3-0 in the best of seven series.

After a phenomenal first round where Lillard proved to be too much for the Oklahoma City Thunder to handle, he had an up-and-down series against the Denver Nuggets, in which his shooting percentage plummeted, putting more pressure on backcourt mate CJ McCollum to step up. The struggles continued against the Warriors. He has shot just 32.9-percent from the field.

The Warriors and Blazers play Game 4 tomorrow night in Portland with Lillard expected to suit up despite his injury.
