Raptors Sign Undrafted Rookie Oshae Brissett, Roster Reaches 20
The Toronto Raptors seem to have filled their roster ahead of training camp.
On Saturday, the team has announced the signing of undrafted free agent Oshae Brissett after the Canadian impressed as a member of the Los Angeles Clippers Summer League roster. A Mississauga native, Brissett grew up a fan of the Raptors, playing his college basketball at Syracuse.
Much like an earlier Raptors signee Sagaba Konate, the Brissett was signed to an Exhibit 10 contract, meaning he will be extended an invitation to training camp with the opportunity to crack the NBA roster. If he does not crack the team, he will be out-righted to the 905.
In his sophomore season with The Orange, Brissett averaged 12.4 points and 7.5 rebounds per game. Brissett is set to join new teammate Chris Boucher on Team Canada’s Summer roster.
The move puts the Raptors at 20 roster players, which is the maximum amount ahead of training camp. The Raptors have also filed a waiver claim for free agent Kostas Antetokounmpo, which if cleared, the Raptors will be eligible to sign the young Greek forward if they can make room for him on the roster. Malcolm Miller seems the most likely name to be cut to make room for Antetokounmpo.
