
Los Angeles Lakers Lure Away Key Toronto Raptors Assistant Phil Handy
Phil Handy is a hot commodity in the game of basketball.
A multiple time NBA champion as an assistant coach, Handy has premiered in the last five NBA Finals. Now, he will be leaving Toronto after a short one season stay and like Kawhi Leonard and Danny Green, will take his talents to Los Angeles. The Lakers have poached a key Raptors assistant.
The Lakers are hiring Phil Handy as an assistant coach, a source said. The former Raptors assistant will be at the front of the bench with the Lakers. He also coached in five straight NBA Finals winning two titles.

A California-native, Handy is known to be one of the more elite skill-development coaches in the entire NBA.
The 47-year old coach will reportedly be “at the front of the bench with the Lakers” along side new head coach Frank Vogel and lead assistant, Jason Kidd.
