Zion Williamson Signs Endorsement Deal with Gatorade Sports Drink
It’s not official in 2019 until it’s Insta official.
Yesterday, Zion Williamson added another endorsement deal under his belt, signing on with Gatorade. The terms of the deal were not disclosed, but with the move, the first overall pick joins a start studded group of NBA stars representing the sports drink company.
Paul George, Jayson Tatum, and Karl-Anthony Towns are the only three Gatorade athletes in the NBA outside of Williamson.
“He is such a unique talent and his game is so multidimensional that it is hard to define him right now. We see that in our brand,” said Gatorade’s global head of sports marketing Jeff Kearney.
According to Euromonitor International, Gatorade presently controls 77% of the sports drink marketshare.
“Gatorade has been in my life and in the locker room throughout my entire life. I’ve seen how important fuelling and hydration are to my performance,” Williamson said this week in an interview with Forbes. “I like the vision they have for the small things I can do to increase my performance. The smallest things can add up and become something great.”
Williamson is slated to make his NBA debut on October 22 against the NBA champion Toronto Raptors.
