Zion Williamson a “Game-Time Decision” on Dunk Contest at this Time
Zion Williamson has become a superstar before playing a single regular season game.
Hell, he’s bringing thousands of people to Chicago to watch him play in the preseason. Zion has undoubtedly become the most must-see rookie prospect to enter the NBA since LeBron James was dubbed The Chosen One back in 2003, which feels like it was just yesterday.
Just yesterday is more like almost two decades ago.
Through LeBron’s rise to the top, the one thing The King has never done is compete in a Slam Dunk Contest, something which I’m sure everyone wants to see Williamson partake in this upcoming year when All-Star Weekend comes to Chicago. Whether or not he is willing to give the fans what they want is a question mark at this point in time.
“I don’t know yet,” said Williamson. “If I’m being honest, depends on where I’m at.”
It’s fair to assume that the ball is in Williamson’s court and if he decides to participate, the NBA will gladly award him that opportunity. Nevertheless, Zion describes it as a “game-time decision” at this time.
The wait begins.
