NBA Names the Toronto Raptors the Team of the Year for 2019
The Toronto Raptors have added yet another accolade to their growing collection.
Earlier today, the NBA announced the NBA Team Sales & Marketing Awards at the League’s annual Sales & Marketing Meetings in Miami. The 2019 NBA champion Raptors were named the league’s first-ever NBA Team of the Year award winners, recognized for incredible accomplishments on the business side, which includes ticketing, partnerships, marketing, digital media, as well as business analytics and innovation.
“This year’s winners have not only achieved outstanding excellence but have raised the NBA’s standards as the league strengthens its pursuit of innovation, inclusion and leadership,” said Amy Brooks, NBA President, Team Marketing & Business Operations and Chief Innovation Officer. “Our teams continue to place their fans at the forefront of their strategies, and in doing so, have played an instrumental role in growing our game.”
Amongst the winners included the Dallas Mavericks earning the NBA’s Inclusion Leadership Award, and the Sacramento Kings and Milwaukee Bucks earning the NBA’s Inclusion Innovation Award.
Nevertheless, the Raptors led the pack on this day earning a grand total of six awards. The reigning champs were followed by the Los Angeles Clippers who finished with five awards, while the Los Angeles Lakers and Miami Heat gathered four awards apiece.
