Pascal Siakam, Norman Powell, Marc Gasol All Nearing Returns
We’ve heard this one before – the Raptors are nearing full health – a constant theme throughout the first half of their title defense season.
As the Toronto Raptors are set to welcome DeMar DeRozan back to the Scotiabank Arena, they appear to be in for a heap of good news.
Norman Powell looks to be ready to make his return to the floor and he might not be the only one. Pascal Siakam and Marc Gasol participated in full practices and will be game-time decisions for tomorrow’s bout against the San Antonio Spurs although Raptors head coach Nick Nurse claimed a Sunday return may be “a bit ambitious” in both cases.
“I’m just glad they’re coming back,” Nurse said. “They wanna play. They wanna be on the court. The sooner we can get ’em back and start working them back in, the better off we’re gonna be. The best version of our team, we know what that is and that’s with healthy guys, all of them.”
Nurse said Sunday is probably a bit too ambitious for Siakam and Gasol (though he didn't rule it out entirely), but they should be back soon after.

The Raptors have been able to keep their heads above water in spite of all the injury concern, racking up a 6-5 record in the trio’s absence.
“The worst part was dressing up to sit on the bench,” Siakam joked on Friday. “I know Serge (Ibaka, the team’s director of fashion) probably enjoys that stuff, but for me it was painful to find an outfit every game. I usually wear sweats. That’s the hardest part for me right there.”
Fred VanVleet will remain out on Sunday with no return timeline at this time.
