Dwight Howard, Aaron Gordon to Headline the NBA’s Slam Dunk Contest
The Slam Dunk field is officially set.
Well, not officially as the NBA has yet to make the final statement, but when Shams Charania of The Athletic drops some NBA-related news, they are usually right.
As the other two competitions continue to fill up, the Slam Dunk contest looks ready to go. Headlining this year’s event is former Slam Dunk champ Dwight Howard of the Los Angeles Lakers, alongside Aaron Gordon, Derrick Jones Jr., and Pat Connaughton. Gordon recently participated in one of the more entertaining Slam Dunk contests in recent NBA history, putting on an absolute show with Zach LaVine.
Milwaukee’s Pat Connaughton has committed to invite to the NBA Slam Dunk contest at All-Star weekend in Chicago, sources tell @TheAthleticNBA @Stadium. Aaron Gordon, Dwight Howard, Derrick Jones Jr., Connaughton so far set.

Unfortunately, it appears as though LaVine will be missing this year’s event, but will suit up for the Three-Point Shootout. Fortunately for the fans, this year’s field should have all the excitement that we need!
Expect to see some incredible and high-flying dunks during All-Star Weekend!
