Harbor Day School Retires Gianna Bryant’s No. 2 Jersey
It was a solemn evening today at Harbor Day School.
A little over a week after her tragic passing, Gianna Bryant’s no. 2 jersey was retired in a ceremony at the gym of her school. Gianna died in a helicopter crash alongside her dad, Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant and seven others in Calabasas on January 26.
“My Gigi. I love you!” Bryant wrote a touching note on her Instagram. “I miss you. You’ve taught us all that no act of kindness is ever too small. Mommy is still and will ALWAYS be so proud of you mamacita.”

Last week, the UConn Huskies, a basketball program Gianna dreamed of being a part of honoured her by placing a no. 2 jersey on one of the seats prior to an exhibition game against Team USA.
Gigi was only 13 at the time of her passing.
